'Everyone has a story'

Through the sharing of personal stories, we aim to break down the barriers and build common ground among our employees to reduce the stigma around mental illness.

Over 1 in 4 people in the world will be affected by a form of mental illness in their lifetime, and more than 500 million people are currently suffering from a form of mental illness in the world right now. This makes mental disorders among the leading causes of ‘ill-health' and disability worldwide.

Unfortunately, of the total number of people experiencing mental illnesses, many of those people will not seek professional help. There is still stigma attached to mental health, particularly in males, so within predominately male-dominated industries, it is more important than ever that we focus on the mental wellbeing of our people.

With the global pandemic continuing and social connections at an all-time low in 2020, we knew we had to do something different, and connect our people in a different way.

The ‘Everyone has a story’ initiative has been developed in alignment with the National Mental Health Awareness month in October in an attempt to normalise that everyone has their own story and journey in life. Through this initiative, we aim to provide the platform and give people the courage to share their stories and provide support and guidance for others who may be facing similar challenges. We aim to connect people through their personal journeys and let people know that they are not alone, that there is nothing wrong with having tough times and that there is help out there.

If you or your business would like to be a part of the Everyone has a story initiative, please reach out directly to us at [email protected] to schedule a project walkthrough with one of our team. The delivery of the project is tailored to suit each organisation and there is a variety of cost options available to participate.
