Kamloops team supports children’s nutrition through the Starfish Program

Molycop’s Kamloops team has again shown its support of the Kamloops Food Bank’s Starfish Program, ensuring students have access to reliable, nutritious meals every weekend.

Key Facts

  • Molycop has contributed funds to the Starfish Program to help provide weekend meals for 10 students throughout the 2024/2025 school year.
  • Team members have volunteed by packing meal bags that help feed approximately 250 children across 30 schools every weekend.
  • The partnership reflects Molycop’s commitment to community wellbeing and supporting families who live with food insecurity.

Members of the Molycop team in Kamloops have once again volunteered their time to support the Kamloops Food Bank’s Starfish Program. The initiative is dedicated to ensuring local students have reliable access to nutritious meals.

Earlier this year, Molycop partnered with the Starfish Program for the 2024/2025 school year, donating funds to provide weekend meals for 10 local students. Throughout the school year, Molycop team members have also packed and prepared meal bags that are distributed to children across School District 73.

Molycop's Kamloops team has become a regular supporter of Kamloops Food Bank's Starfish Program.

Supporting students one backpack at a time

The Starfish Program fills a critical gap for children who may not have consistent access to food on weekends. Every Friday morning, the Kamloops Food Bank delivers approximately 250 backpacks to 30 schools across the district. Each pack contains nutritious, easy-to-prepare items that ensure students have meals they can rely on until they return to school on Monday morning.

In their most recent volunteer session, members of the Molycop team helped assemble another round of these essential meal packs, continuing their hands-on contribution to a program that remains vital for many families in the region.

A partnership built on community care

The Starfish Program is more than a food initiative – it represents stability and support for students who rely on it every week. The dedication of our Kamloops team demonstrates the collective impact that's possible when businesses and community organisations work together.
