As part of the technical program, Molycop and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) will present collaborative research that applies advanced modelling techniques to better understand the thermal and microstructural changes that occur during grinding media production.

The work highlights Molycop’s ongoing commitment to innovation, combining materials science expertise with predictive modelling to enhance product performance and support more efficient and sustainable mining operations.

About the Event

PRICM12 (Pacific Rim International Conference on Advanced Materials and Processing) is one of the world’s premier conferences for materials science, metallurgy and advanced manufacturing. The event brings together leading scientists, engineers, researchers and industry professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region and around the globe to exchange knowledge, discuss emerging technologies and explore innovations in materials development and processing.

The conference covers a broad range of topics including advanced materials, manufacturing technologies, modelling and simulation, artificial intelligence, energy materials, characterisation techniques and structural materials. PRICM12 is designed to foster international collaboration and promote the advancement of technologies that address current and future industrial challenges.

Molycop Presentation

Molycop will present collaborative research with Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) at PRICM12. The paper, titled “Modelling and Prediction of Thermal Field and Microstructural Evolution During Processing of Steel Grinding Media,” explores how advanced modelling techniques can be used to improve the design and manufacture of steel grinding media.

Developed jointly by researchers from QMUL and Molycop, the study investigates the relationship between processing conditions, thermal behaviour and microstructural development during manufacturing. The research represents an important step towards more predictive, data-driven manufacturing processes that can enhance grinding media performance while supporting greater efficiency and sustainability across the mining industry.
