Supporting access to education in remote communities
Established in 2016, Nakayale provides full scholarships for students from Grades 0 to 7. In addition to classroom learning, the school offers a comprehensive support environment that includes boarding, meals, healthcare, and access to sport and creative activities. Its approach is designed to address multiple barriers to education in a remote region, with a focus on consistent learning, wellbeing, and long-term development.
On-the-ground engagement with the school community
More recently, Eduardo Alvarez, Market Development Manager, visited the school to spend time with students, teachers, and staff.

Observing a learner-centred environment
The visit provided an opportunity to observe the school’s day-to-day environment, including its learner-centred model, small class sizes, and strong engagement between students and teachers. Eduardo participated in classroom activities, shared a lesson, and brought a small number of gifts—simple gestures that helped build connection and offered insight into the students’ experience.
Beyond education: structure and support
Spending time onsite highlighted the role the school plays not only in education, but also in providing structure, continuity, and access to basic services that support students more broadly.
Reflections from the visit
Reflecting on the visit, Eduardo said:
Engaging directly with the school community provides important context. It reinforces the value of supporting initiatives that contribute to education and opportunity, and the role these play in building a better future for these children.

A continued commitment to the local community
Nakayale continues to serve its local community by providing a consistent and structured environment where students can develop foundational skills and progress through their education.
Doing what matters through community connection
In this context, engagement of this nature reflects a broader principle at Molycop—doing what matters—by maintaining a practical understanding of the communities connected to our activities and supporting initiatives that contribute to long-term, meaningful outcomes.
