In 2025 Alvin completed a five week technical placement in the company’s Perth office where he undertook hands on training with the local engineering team. The program strengthened his technical skills, broadened his operational knowledge and supported collaboration across our global digital function. We spoke with Alvin about his role and recent experiences:

Q: Describe your role at Molycop Digital and the impact you aim to make:
Alvin: As a Junior Full Stack Engineer, my primary focus is supporting the Americas team. Currently, I'm contributing to projects that enhance the user experience for our process control engineers. My goal is to help develop intuitive and powerful tools that become indispensable for our users, ultimately driving efficiency and increasing the adoption of our digital platforms.Q: Why Molycop Digital?
Alvin: I've always been driven by new challenges and was seeking an opportunity to apply my skills on a global scale. Molycop stood out because it offers the chance to have a tangible impact on clients worldwide. I was particularly attracted to the digital engineering team because it’s a space defined by innovation and creativity. In such a complex and constantly evolving environment, there is always room to introduce new ideas and create value.Q: How did your development placement in Perth contribute?
Alvin: I believe this was an important opportunity for me to grow technically. Learning directly from highly experienced engineers with a track record of successful projects was an invaluable experience. Beyond the technical skills, I’m also excited to have built strong professional relationships with my colleagues in Perth, which are essential for effective global collaboration.Q: How do you see your contribution evolving?
Alvin: I see myself growing to lead projects focused on optimising and automating procedures. I'm especially interested in integrating state-of-the-art technologies, such as artificial intelligence, into our daily tasks to improve efficiency. Ultimately, my goal is to help Molycop and our clients take their projects to the next level, while I continue to learn and grow as a professional.
