Supporting customers across Africa

Molycop is pleased to welcome Meissa Ababou as Senior Solutions Engineer, supporting customer operations across Africa. Working closely with regional teams, Meissa is currently focused on assisting with project delivery alongside GM Africa.

In her role, Meissa provides technical support to customers, identifies optimisation opportunities, and supports the successful deployment, commissioning and troubleshooting of Molycop’s technology solutions. She also works closely with commercial teams to ensure customers receive practical, tailored support aligned with their operational needs.

A strong technical background with on-site experience

Meissa brings a well-rounded technical background, including experience in advanced process control (APC), control systems, instrumentation and asset performance management. Her time working as a systems engineer at a gold mine in Mali has given her valuable first-hand insight into the day-to-day realities faced by mining operations.

This combination of technical expertise and operational experience enables her to better understand customer challenges and translate data and analysis into meaningful outcomes. Her ability to communicate in French also plays an important role in supporting customers across West Africa.
Meissa Ababou, Senior Solutions Engineer:

Having worked on site, I understand the challenges our customers face on a daily basis. It helps me better identify opportunities and provide solutions that are both practical and effective.

Turning insights into performance improvements

A key part of Meissa’s approach is working closely with customers to understand their operations, identify bottlenecks and uncover optimisation opportunities.

By combining open communication with technical expertise, she helps translate operational challenges into tailored solutions delivered in collaboration with Molycop’s technical teams.
Meissa Ababou:

It starts with a good conversation — understanding the customer’s needs and identifying where improvements can be made. From there, we work with our teams to deliver a solution tailored to their operation.
Building strong relationships and providing responsive, reliable support is central to this process and a key differentiator for Molycop.

Unlocking opportunities in a growing region

Mining activity across Africa has seen significant growth in recent years, creating both opportunities and challenges for operators. While demand for increased production continues, many sites are also under pressure to reduce operational costs and improve efficiency.

At the same time, the rapid expansion of technology, data analytics and AI-driven tools presents a wide range of options — often making it difficult for stakeholders to determine where to begin.
Molycop supports customers by providing practical, easy-to-use solutions that require minimal maintenance, complemented by consulting services and training to help teams build capability and drive long-term value.
Meissa Ababou:

There are so many technologies available today that it can be hard for operations to know where to start. Our role is to simplify that process and deliver solutions that are both effective and easy to implement.

A collaborative and global environment

Meissa was drawn to Molycop by its dynamic team environment and strong growth trajectory. Being part of a global organisation has already enabled her to reconnect with industry peers and build new relationships across the mining sector.
Meissa Ababou:

The team has great energy and has been very welcoming. Mining is a small world, so it’s been great reconnecting with familiar faces and building new relationships.

Looking ahead: Optimisation and innovation

Looking to the future, Meissa sees continued growth across the African mining sector, driven by new developments and expansions of existing operations. She also highlights the increasing role of data, analytics and emerging technologies in driving operational improvements.
Meissa Ababou:

The future looks bright. With the growth we’re seeing and the increasing use of data and technology, there’s a real opportunity for operations to better understand and optimise their performance.
