Webinar overview

Grinding media selection and performance evaluation are fundamental to mill efficiency, process stability and cost optimisation. This Molycop Insights session, titled 'Keys to assessing the industrial performance of grinding media: Metrics and data-driven decision making', will explore the key metrics, analytical methods and field-based observations that enable metallurgists and plant teams to evaluate grinding media performance with confidence.

Drawing from real industrial evaluations conducted by Molycop’s Mexico Technical Applications team, the session will connect theoretical concepts with operational data and practical applications. Attendees will gain a clear framework for benchmarking grinding media performance and making intelligent, data-supported decisions in their own operations.

What you'll learn

  • Fundamental concepts of grinding media wear and performance.
  • How to correctly measure grinding media consumption and what to avoid.
  • Evaluation techniques during ball size changes or product transitions.
  • Understanding mill dynamics using operational data.
  • The role of field audits and linking observations to decisions.
  • How data-driven evaluation leads to measurable performance improvements.

Who the webinar is for

  • Metallurgists
  • Process and plant engineers
  • Operations superintendents
  • Grinding and comminution specialists
  • Technical service teams
  • Anyone responsible for mill optimisation and cost control
