As part of its ongoing commitment to technical excellence and customer support, Molycop will deliver an in-person training masterclass in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 9–10 July 2025. The event, to be held at The Westin Hotel, will feature two days of intensive, expert-led sessions on SAG Milling, flotation fundamentals and cutting-edge optimisation tools.
Leading the Masterclass will be Levi Guzman, Molycop’s Global Leader of Technical Applications, supported by a team of world-class experts, including Dr Hamid Pourasiabi, Dr Yufan Mu and Vishal Deeplaul.

“This event reflects Molycop’s strong belief in the power of knowledge sharing and technical collaboration,” Levi says. “Indonesia is an important region for us – not just strategically, but because of the long-standing relationships we’ve built with our customers. This Masterclass is about giving back, strengthening those partnerships, and helping operations perform at their best.”

Strengthening local connections

The decision to host the 2025 Masterclass in Jakarta underscores the strategic value of the South-east Asian region to Molycop. With a growing mining sector and a focus on innovation, Indonesia is a key market for the company’s products and services.

“We’re proud to manufacture grinding media locally and support regional growth through in-country production and local expertise,” Levi explains. “This event is also a chance to reinforce our commitment to Indonesian customers – to show that we’re not just a supplier, but a long-term technical partner.”

A complete learning experience

Over the two-day program, attendees will gain practical insights into mill performance optimisation, the application of Molycop Tools, flotation principles and advanced modelling techniques. The sessions are designed for metallurgists, plant operators and process engineers seeking real-world solutions and deeper understanding.

“There’s often a gap between theory and practice, and we want to bridge that with actionable knowledge,” Levi says. “Whether it’s fine-tuning operational parameters or understanding what’s happening inside a mill, our goal is to equip teams with knowledge they can immediately apply in their plants.”

Expert-led, customer-focused

The program includes technical content from some of the industry’s most experienced specialists. Levi Guzman will lead sessions across both days on SAG and Ball Mill optimisation. Day two will expand to include Dr Hamid Pourasiabi presenting on the Ball Mill Abrasion Test (BMAT), Dr Yufan Mu covering the Mill Family Model and pulp chemistry, and Vishal Deeplaul sharing insights into DEM analysis and mill performance modelling.

This collaborative approach showcases the depth of Molycop’s technical expertise and the breadth of its product and services offering, spanning grinding media, flotation chemistry, process optimisation technologies, digital analytics and professional training.

“Training is just one part of the bigger picture,” Levi adds. “Molycop’s strength lies in our integrated offering. We can support a customer through the full lifecycle of their milling and flotation operations – from design and testing to implementation and optimisation.”
