Molycop’s 2025 Bendigo Masterclass provided an immersive day of technical learning, practical simulation and professional networking for Victoria’s mineral processing community.
Key Facts
- Masterclass participants explored real-world milling challenges through live demonstrations and interactive Molycop Tools simulations.
- Molycop’s specialists shared proven strategies to boost circuit performance and optimise plant efficiency.
- Attendees earned three PD hours, which they can contribute towards their AusIMM Chartered Professional (CP) accreditation.
Participants agreed there is a high demand for specialist knowledge in the Victorian Goldfields, particularly for how the Molycop Tools suite can be used to improve circuit performance and optimise plant efficiency. That demand led to an impressive level of engagement among participants, all of whom were keen to take insights from the Masterclass and apply them to their plant operations. Included in the event program was a fascinating visit to the Fosterville mine site, located east of Bendigo.
The program featured expert-led presentations and live demonstrations covering:
- The Laws of Comminution – tracing the evolution of milling theory from pioneers like Von Rittinger, Kick and Bond, and applying their insights to today’s challenges.
- Ball Mill Simulations – showcasing how Molycop Tools can be used to increase a plant’s throughput rate and milling efficiency through hands-on simulation exercises.
- Interactive learning and practical demonstrations – giving participants the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to realistic process scenarios.
Attendees learned practical strategies to improve circuit performance.
Learning from Molycop experts
Molycop specialists Giehard Nebre (Senior Applications Engineer), Sean Mee (Business Development Manager) and Daniel van der Spuy (Lead Process Technology Consultant) led the program, sharing insights from decades of combined experience in plant optimisation and mineral processing technology.Their sessions provided participants with practical strategies to improve circuit performance, gain actionable process insights and use data to make smarter, faster operational decisions.
Participants earned three Professional Development (PD) hours, recognised by the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM), reinforcing Molycop’s commitment to supporting continuous learning and professional growth within the resources sector.
Strengthening connections
The Masterclass provided an opportunity for Molycop to reconnect with customers across Victoria’s mining and processing sector, fostering open discussion about shared challenges and emerging opportunities. The event concluded with an informal networking session, giving attendees the chance to catch up with familiar faces and meet new colleagues from across the industry.Molycop extends its thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the Bendigo Masterclass.
