With a growing portfolio of process optimisation technologies and consulting expertise, Molycop is expanding its impact across the entire mining value chain – from comminution to flotation and leaching.
To support this evolution across two of the world’s most important mining regions – Australasia and Africa – Molycop brought Vishal Deeplaul on board just over a year ago as Lead Process Technology Consultant, based in the Perth office. 

With decades of experience in mineral processing, Vishal has been working closely with customers on the ground, helping them get more out of their operations using Molycop’s technical tools and site support services. Vishal has quickly become a cornerstone of Molycop’s strategy to deliver high-value, site-focused technical support and advanced process tools to customers across these diverse regions.

Global experience, local solutions

Vishal brings a unique commercial and technical perspective to his role. Originally from South Africa and now based in Western Australia, he has a deep understanding of the mining landscape across both Africa and Australasia. 

With a background that includes process roles in gold, copper, platinum and base metal operations, as well as bulk mineral processing of iron and coal, Vishal combines hands-on industry experience with a strong focus on customer engagement and solution-driven sales.

Working closely with site teams, Vishal helps clients identify challenges, explore value-adding solutions, and implement strategies that drive tangible operational and financial benefits.

We sat down with Vishal to talk about his first year at Molycop, his focus across both regions, and where he sees opportunities for the future.

Q: How would you describe your work with Molycop so far?

A: It’s been a great year immersing myself in the team and gaining a deeper understanding of our capabilities, value proposition and points of difference. At the same time, I’ve been re-familiarising myself with operations across Australasia and Africa.

Q: How are you helping strengthen Molycop’s presence in Australasia and Africa?

A: We have held several workshops in both regions, which have provided valuable opportunities to connect with colleagues and customers. These sessions allow us to showcase our capabilities while also having meaningful conversations to understand customer needs and opportunities, and enabling us to craft tailored solutions for them.

Q: What opportunities do you see ahead for Molycop and its customers?

A: We work across the full scope of a mineral processing plant and can provide independent insights into performance, improvement opportunities and optimisation potential to deliver a positive financial impact. We often collaborate with customers using their own plant data to build business cases that support specific technology solutions and projects.
