Bruno, can you tell us a bit about your role at Molycop in Brazil and Latin America?
I’m based in Belo Horizonte, a key hub for the Brazilian mining industry. My role as a Process Technology Consultant is to work closely with our clients – metallurgists, process engineers, and plant operators – to help them achieve better operational outcomes.
This includes implementing advanced control systems, providing technical guidance and ensuring that our solutions align with the unique challenges of the Latin American mining sector.
What are some of the main challenges gold producers in Brazil are facing right now?
One of the key challenges is balancing cost efficiency with sustainability. Producers are under pressure to reduce operating costs while also meeting strict environmental standards. Additionally, many plants still rely on manual controls, which can limit consistency and efficiency. There’s a growing need for real-time monitoring and automation to improve recovery rates and reduce errors.
