Building on a strong foundation
Chad’s path to Molycop was shaped by a wide-ranging career that began at 17 as an operator on the largest concrete pump in Canada. He worked on major infrastructure projects with PCL, one of North America’s largest construction firms, before studying civil engineering and joining Kiewit Energy on the Kearl Lake oil sands project. From there, he took a break to travel the world before returning to Canada to take on key account roles in the waterworks industry – first with IPEX, then with EMCO, managing territories across Southern Alberta, interior British Columbia and the Yukon.
With a young family and a desire to build something new in eastern Canada, Chad joined Molycop in 2023.
“As an Account Manager, I’m responsible for managing a portfolio of key mining accounts and developing new customer relationships,” Chad explains. “That includes everything from quoting and pricing to forecasting and coordinating with operations and logistics. Every day is different, which is what I love about the role.”
Strengthening Molycop in North America
Molycop’s operations in Canada are crucial to the company’s North American footprint, and Chad plays a pivotal role in reinforcing this contribution.“Molycop Canada supports our customers by delivering reliable, high-quality grinding media backed by strong technical expertise and responsive service,” Chad says. “Our ability to align with each site’s operational goals helps us stand out in a competitive market.”
Whether he's attending industry events, troubleshooting challenges at the site, or reviewing mill data with customers, Chad is focused on helping mining operations optimise performance and cost.
I’m looking forward to deepening relationships with our customers and becoming a trusted partner in supporting their comminution circuits. Each operation is different, and I enjoy diving into the technical side to better understand their processes and find ways we can add value.
Opportunities to come
Chad sees big opportunities ahead for Molycop in Canada. “There’s growing demand and Molycop is well-positioned to lead that conversation,” he says. “On a personal level, I’ve always had a strong interest in geology and the broader mining process, so being able to work directly with customers who are shaping the future of mineral processing is both exciting and motivating.”From the oil sands to remote Yukon communities and now the mines of eastern Canada, Chad brings a unique blend of grit, technical expertise and customer-first thinking to his work, making him a key contributor to Molycop’s ongoing success in the region.
