OreVia is Molycop’s holistic approach to process characterisation. It defines the journey of ore through the processing circuit, providing clarity, insight and direction to optimise every stage of the milling-to-recovery process.

By leveraging OreVia, Molycop delivers a comprehensive understanding of how ore behaves from extraction to processing, enabling smarter decisions that enhance efficiency and maximise recovery throughout the entire mining operation.

Molycop OreVia features

Using machine learning, OreVia captures images across the entire mineral processing circuit, providing critical insights into process efficiencies, learning and improving over time like a human operator. 

The system can be placed at the primary crusher discharge, secondary crusher discharge, above the mill feed or above flotation tanks, and uses advanced AI capabilities to learn the context of each location. Using robust, high-resolution cameras it detects and adapts or alerts operators to process variations, providing high-resolution imagery and real-time data and analysis with remote monitoring and playback feature options.

OreVia – Rock: Intelligent rock detection and measurement

Unlike traditional systems, OreVia learns to recognise and contextualise coarse material on conveyor belts, or inside crushers or feeders. OreVia accurately detects rock sizes, even in challenging environments like submerged fines, and delivers fast, real-time particle measurements. It can also adapt to variations in ore and installation conditions without the need for recalibration. 

By capturing precise particle size data, the system ensures a consistent blend into the mill, stabilising throughput and reducing liner wear.

OreVia – Slurry: Fine particle sizes detection in real time

OreVia detects fine particle size and fragmentation in pipes, adapts to variability in particle size and provides real-time high-resolution fines analysis and particle size measurements. 

The technology consists of a high-resolution endoscope installed in the crusher discharge pipe to retrieve particle size and shape information via image analysis. Only one endoscope is provided, and the measurement range will be determined in collaboration with the client to best suit their needs. Typical measurement ranges are:
  • 1–200 µm for fine particles.
  • 10–1100 µm for coarser particles.

OreVia – Froth: Froth velocity detection and stability 

OreVia can be installed above flotation tanks as an advanced flotation monitoring instrument to accurately detect froth pulp velocity, monitor bubble size and report anomalous flotation conditions. OreVia enables real-time measurement of flotation froth velocities on individual flotation cells to maximise mineral extraction efficiency.
